BioFIRE will enroll highly motivated students with limited previous exposure to scientific research. Preference will be given to students who are not already participating in a campus living and learning program. Admission is by application. To be considered, you must do the following by the application deadline:
- Confirm your enrollment at the University of Maryland
- Submit the housing and dining agreement form*
- Submit the BioFIRE online application form
*Every new first-year student who desires to live in campus residence halls must complete the 2017-2018 Housing/Dining Services Agreement by May 1, 2017 to be eligible to live on campus. BioFIRE is not listed on the University housing agreement as a living and learning option. By applying using our online form, the BioFIRE program will work with Resident Life to ensure your housing in the BioFIRE Living and Learning Program.
Only those who confirm their enrollment at the University of Maryland by May 1 will be considered for BioFIRE, and no admission decisions will be made before that date. Students may be directly admitted to the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences or may be in Letters & Sciences.
