Our outreach efforts address the HHMI priorities of strengthening education in biology and related sciences, advancing public understanding and appreciation of science, and
broadening access to science for all persons, including women and members of groups underrepresented in the sciences.
They consist of:
- Jump Start, a summer science immersion program for high school students
- An annual science symposium for secondary school teachers in Maryland and the surrounding area
- Chesapeake Bay Watershed Interdisciplinary Science Partnership, a mobile lab teaching high school students about water quality in their neighborhoods, the bay, and its waterways
